Since launching in 1981 with only six tours in a four-page brochure, Explore has grown to offer hundreds of trips from classic ‘discovery’ group tours, solo traveller holidays and active family adventures to walking holidays and cycling trips. The average group size on Explore tours is just 12; big enough to meet like-minded people but small enough to get to the heart of a destination. All sorts of people travel on Explore trips; groups are usually a mix of solos, couples and friends united by an adventurous spirit and a sense of fun.
Responsible at heart
Explore’s commitment to sustainable travel means that trips are Gold Standard carbon offset, and they work hard to ensure they have a positive impact on the communities they visit. All Explore trips have a carbon measurement rating, with the aim of reducing their footprint by 50% by 2030. For each trip booked, as well as being carbon offset, Explore makes a donation to Rewilding Britain and Cool Earth, which protects rainforests and supports indigenous communities. They also support many other charities around the world.
