When it comes to finding ideas for a Honeymoon trip of a lifetime, TikTok has become a big source of inspiration for many, with videos showing off all the delights these honeymoon destinations can offer.

To bring to light the most popular post-nuptial destination we analysed hundreds of hashtags to reveal the most watched on TikTok, looking at different countries, cities, states and regions to unearth which destinations around the globe are the most admired.

The world’s trending honeymoon destinations

The Maldives is home to the most watched Honeymoon videos overall, with an impressive 3.5 million views for the hashtag #Maldiveshoneymoon. Videos documenting romantic getaways in the Maldives include mini vlogs of the trip, daily sea dips, sunset views and resort tours. The Maldives is home to some truly beautiful resorts with stunning beaches, crystal clear waters and breath-taking sunsets. Not to mention the resorts are some of the most luxurious in the world, with some videos offering users a glimpse into five-star offerings such as spas, water villas and dining experiences. These videos are certainly enough to make any newly-weds consider a deluxe trip to sun-soaked paradise.

Ranking in second place is Italy, with the European country having a staggering 3.2 million views for videos showing off Italian honeymoons. The country is easy to get to for many Europeans and offers a multitude of landscapes including the Dolomite mountains, the idyllic Tuscan countryside and the alluring Amalfi coast. With so many different locations to enjoy, many honeymooners take advantage of the ease of travelling within the country and squeeze a few cities and towns into their travel itineraries.

In third place is Bali, with videos of Indonesian island’s natural delights racking up over 2.3 million views. Bali is a popular post wedding destination for many couples, where they’re able to experience a whole range of landscapes from vibrant forests to breath-taking beaches.

Following Bali is Greece in fifth place with 1,400,000 views under its honeymoon hashtag. And, with the addition of Greece’s stunning nearby islands such as Mykonos and Santorini, the total view count grows to 2.2 million views all together. Renowned for aesthetically pleasing white buildings, blue roofs, and stunning beaches and waters, Greece offers honeymooners a trip to remember.

Rounding off the top five is Caribbean country Antigua and Barbuda which affords recently married couples a truly blissful break to remember. This destination is perfect for those looking for a more laid-back way to celebrate their wedding holiday, with incredible food, beautiful beaches and elegant resorts with spas and fine dining, a great way to celebrate entering married life together.

The UK just makes it into the top ten, with TikTokkers sharing a variety of quintessentially British honeymoons, ranging from bustling city-breaks in bustling London and Manchester to the atmospheric natural landscapes of the Scottish Highlands and Lake District.

Where are the trending honeymoon destinations in the USA?

When it comes to the United States there are so many varied honeymoon options for couples, whether it’s jetting off to an island to make the most of the beaches and their crystal-clear waters or taking that bucket list adventure and doing a road trip through one of the many national parks.

Topping the list for the most popular American state to take a post wedding holiday in is Hawaii. With over 2.9 million video views, the exotic destination is perfect for those looking for an unforgettable time. Videos of honeymoons in Maui, one of the Hawaiian Islands, have over 34,800 views, with users sharing clips of their time exploring the island, enjoying the beaches and taking in the stunning sunsets.

Trending in second place with 19,400 views is Montana. Known for its diverse wildlife and natural beauty, the state is home to Yellowstone National Park and the Rocky Mountains. With such a remarkable landscape, it is the perfect destination for couples that err on the adventurous side, with hiking, horse riding and skiing among the activities on offer.

Texas, Colorado and Alaska make up the remaining top five trending US states for honeymoons. Texas is home to a host of vibrant cities including Austin, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio, and all the cities have something exciting to offer visitors. Austin is known for its electrifying live music scene, so is perfect for those looking to catch some brilliant live entertainment. New York tops the rankings for US honeymoon destinations, with over 810,000 views of videos showing off the Empire State Building and other iconic architecture. Central Park features heavily in TikTok honeymoon videos, where couples can enjoy romantic strolls, boat rides on the lake and coffee dates as they watch the world go by. Next up is Las Vegas, where those with more playful tastes can visit the casinos, bars and famous Vegas strip, enjoying fine dining and shows as they take in the city’s nightlife.

Other American cities making up the top five include Nashville, Houston and San Diego. The Tennessee capital, Nashville, is certainly popular for honeymoons with videos gaining over 73,663 views. Known for being the home of country music, it’s a fantastic destination for couples looking for a mix of live music, big city sights and delicious food.

Mexico's trending honeymoon destinations

Cancun is the top trending honeymoon destination in Mexico, with over 85,700 views of videos of couples sharing their experience. Newlyweds can enjoy top-rated hotels with swim up bars and glorious beach views and partake in a host of activities, from water sports to golf courses/ For those looking for a more laid-back trip, Los Cabos comes in second and is renowned for its luxurious and peaceful resorts.

Where are the trending honeymoon destinations in Europe?

Proving that the ‘city of love’ rarely disappoints, Paris ranks as the top trending honeymoon destination within Europe. Honeymooners can capture iconic photos in front of the Eiffel Tour whilst enjoying a glass of bubbly, take a morning stroll along the Seine and wander the many museums within the city, stopping to enjoy traditional French bistro along the way.

In second place is the Greek sun-soaked island Santorini, over 125,000 views of the honeymoon hashtag. Whilst Greece was one of the trending destinations globally, it boasts two islands within the top 13 ranking, with Greek island Mykonos also making the cut. With stunning white buildings, beautiful restaurants where visitors can be wined and dined as they enjoy the mesmerising sunsets.

Italy makes up three of the top five trending destinations, with Positano, Rome and the Amalfi coast all featuring. Whilst Positano can be found on the Amalfi coast, the town itself is particularly popular amongst newlyweds, with honeymoon videos of the destination amassing over 115,900 views. The beautiful Italian coast offers a wealth of luxurious hotels, restaurants, bars and so much beautiful scenery to take in from sunrise to sunset. Rome is the other Italian destination making the top five, a perfect getaway for those looking for a history-packed city break.

Methodology

We analysed TikTok data for honeymoon hashtags for over 445 destinations, including countries, cities, states and regions around the world. Looking at views for #[destination]honeymoon to reveal which destination has the largest number of views on the app. The destinations were then ranked in order of most watched to reveal the trending honeymoon locations.
