Universal Endless Summer Resort - Dockside Inn & Suites

Bright and breezy

Although this is one of Universal Orlando’s more affordable hotels, some design features help make it feel special, with high ceilings and chic décor.

The Dockside Inn & Suites forms over half of the Universal Endless Summer Resort, complementing the Surfside Inn & Suites. If you’re trying to decide between the two, it’s helpful to know that Dockside is larger and has two pools and a splash zone. There are subtle differences in the theme, and some might prefer an oh-so-slightly quieter ambience at Surfside. Either way, they both offer the same coveted two-bedroom suites, which are great for families who want to share a single space rather than book interconnecting rooms.

Why we love Universal Endless Summer Resort - Dockside Inn & Suites

  • Around half of the 2,000 or so rooms are two-bedroom suites that sleep up to six thanks to a sofa bed in one of the rooms. We also love them for families of four, with parents in one room and the kids in another. It just gives everyone a little bit more space.

  • The rooms, while simple, are well-designed and feel soothing, thanks to a duck egg colour palette, surf-chic styling, and sunset prints. Their unusually high ceilings also make them feel bigger and brighter.

  • This is an official Universal Orlando hotel, so you’ll enjoy some great perks, including early access to the theme parks and the handy ability to charge food and merchandise purchased in the park to your room. Complimentary buses will shuttle you to and from the theme parks.

  • There are two swimming pools here and a splash pad that’s perfect for smaller children. Look out for poolside games and activities – a schedule is available at the front desk.

I stayed at this resort for 8 days between March 25 to April 2nd. I enjoyed my room very much. Even though they were kids running up and down the hallways most days. But it was very quiet at night. The free shuttle to Universal was a huge plus the shuttle pretty much ran all day every day. The Pool was alright, I only used it once. The pool was shallow only at max was 4 foot 9 inches deep, I guess to cater to Families and their kids. The on site market for food and drinks was nice, I only used it once because it was just so packed full of guests. On site Starbucks was nice and the Universal store on site was good as well. The only thing I didn't like was the parking 25 dollars plus tax a night was a bit much. But every hotel in Orlando is charging you for something either in parking or resort fees. Overall I will stay at this hotel in the future when Epic Universe opens eventually.

Universal studios has misrepresented themselves and I’m very curious to know why. I booked a 2 bedroom suite over the phone as we had two families on vacation together. We showed up to the room at 9pm to find ourselves in a 1 bedroom with two beds in a kitchenette with a picknick table. Fridge didn’t work, small microwave. I called the front desk and was told that was their interpretation of a two bedroom suite. I guess we were really in the movies. I was told if it was not suitable I could check out and find other means of lodging. Not the customer service I expected from a company such as universal. Being deceived on vacation after waiting and saving all year Ro go on was not only disappointing but I’m sure illegal with calling this room a two bedroom suite. Just wanted to share our experience so no one else was taken advantage of. The manager just called to follow up on my review to offer my family a 50.00 credit on another stay to take my review down. Do yourself a favor and go to Disney

Besides some issues checking in, my family and I had a great time staying here. It had beautiful views of the city and the Pier 8 market had some really delicious and quick food. The busses ran fast from the park and back. Despite the crazy spring break crowds this hotel was still able to give us a great time. Loved just sitting by the pool and the views of the hotel don’t disappoint.
