Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside

Southern hospitality, Disney style

Taking architecture and design cues from rural Louisiana, this resort hotel features white-column mansions and delightful cottages set in pretty gardens, with the Deep South theme continuing to the restaurants and bars.

This resort has a quieter feel than others in Walt Disney World, perfect for downtime between days in the parks to enjoy a carriage or bike ride along the Sassagoula River or splash about in the large swimming pool, themed on the story of Tom Sawyer. The resort is in the Disney Springs part of Walt Disney World, and you can hop on a boat to reach this large restaurant and retail area. If you’re travelling with a Disney princess fan, choosing one of the Royal Guest Rooms will go down a storm – these rooms feature framed portraits of Disney princesses and magical touches like a light-up headboard.

Why we love Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside

  • Use the complimentary Disney bus network to reach the four theme parks and two waterparks. The closest are Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, which are around ten minutes away by bus.

  • Guests of Disney Resort hotels like this one get early access to the Disney parks, so the fun starts 30 minutes before the gates open to everyone else.

  • Choose a Royal Guest Room for maximum Disney theming, styled around Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, with other guestrooms featuring a more subtle nod to the movie.

  • Rent four-seater Surrey bikes or take a horse-drawn carriage ride along the Sassagoula River, departing from the Riverside Levee Marina.
