It might be basic in design but Yosemite View Lodge has got a big ace up its sleeve. Making the wild so much more reachable, you can almost make eyes at Yosemite Park’s west entrance and tune into beauty at every angle.

If nomadic feels, mountain scenery and a spot right on the banks of the wild Merced River are the kinds of things that float your boat, you’ll find them all here. Yosemite View Lodge feels like a step back in time when it comes to its 336 bedrooms, restaurant and pools but it’s over the top generous in its location. You’re on Highway 140 and just a five-minute drive to the west entrance of Yosemite National Park. A shuttle bus stops right outside to take you to the Valley and days are spent hiking the Loop Trail, getting up close to El Capitan and diving right in with ranger-led activities. Locally Paid Fees & Taxes: Expect to pay approximately $3 per room per night for hotel resort fees and local taxes.
