Recommended itinerary
Day 1
Chiang Mai to The Bush Camp
A transfer brings you to the remote Bush Camp from Chang Mai in time for lunch, fuelling up on Thai dishes for an afternoon in the elephant park where the elephants roam freely in their natural home. You’ll meet members of the Karen Hillltribe and the mahouts who care for the elephants and get a glimpse into their daily lives, helping them pound rice, weave handmade clothes, and sample their cooking. Later, choose one of the mountain-top viewpoints for a sundowner looking over the Ping River and feast on a buffet of freshly prepared Thai and Western dishes.
Day 2
The Bush Camp
You’ll wake to a buffet breakfast and head back to the elephant park to watch the elephants enjoy a morning wash and learn more about their care. You’ll have a chance to try kanom krok, a traditional Thai coffee with a mid-morning snack. Lunch is served before a leisurely afternoon swimming in the camp’s pool or simply relaxing in the peaceful surroundings. Tonight, you’ll join your fellow campmates for sundowners and dinner.
Day 3
The Bush Camp to Chiang Mai
A final breakfast sets you up for a morning in the Elephant Valley, where you can observe elephants roaming freely and hear more about their veterinary care. You’ll have the opportunity to feed the elephants — a memorable final experience before you return to the camp for lunch and get ready to depart.
