Velassaru Maldives

Perfect escapism with plenty to do

Chic and contemporary, Velassaru appeals to style-hunters and seclusion-seekers.

Velassaru’s white sand beach and bright turquoise lagoon create a real wow factor on arrival. Things only get better – with contemporary villas and bungalows, sensational restaurants, and a showstopping spa. And that’s all before what awaits in the big blue beyond.

Why we love Velassaru Maldives

  • Contemporary villas and bungalows have authentic thatched roofs that give the resort a lovely far-flung aesthetic

  • Modern styling with pops of aqua are comfortably and accessibly luxurious

  • An ice cream cart circles the island daily, offering complimentary scoops

  • Cinema nights on the beach, complete with popcorn

While Vela will be your main go-to, don’t miss the other restaurants to mix things up and spend an evening over the lagoon at Teppanyaki or on the beach at Sand.

Vela
The main restaurant is set in lush foliage. It offers international buffet dining, live cooking stations and signature specialities with a twist.

Teppanyaki
In a prime spot over the bright turquoise lagoon, you’ll find contemporary Japanese cuisine with a menu of sushi, salads, and premium dishes from the land, sea, and garden.

Turquoise
With a relaxed atmosphere in an intimate setting under the palms, Turquoise serves a menu of light bites, salads, burgers and pizzas alongside meat and fish dishes.

Etesian
Mediterranean-inspired dishes served in a modern restaurant setting.

Sand
Candlelit tables scattered on the beach with private dining pavilions. Indulge in beautifully prepared Pan-Indian Ocean specialities or choose from the chef’s signature menu.

Fen Bar
Cool and funky, with dark wood, mood lighting, low music and luxurious daybeds. Outdoors, there are beanbags and hammocks for lounging.

Chill Bar
Ultra-comfy lounging, with daybeds and huge tables on a deck at the water’s edge. There are canopies for shade in the heat of the day. Tapas and expertly mixed cocktails will see you through the evening.

Moody lighting and a wall of wine make Etesian a lovely place for a special evening, complete with menu classics like lobster thermidor and duck leg confit.
