SVATMA

A serene and cultured bolthole

A member of Relais & Chateaux, SVATMA is a beautiful boutique property and a destination in its own right.

Guests can fully immerse themselves in the culture and ancient beliefs of Tamil Nadu through a range of special experiences created by the hotel. Listen to a performance of Carnatic chamber music, watch a Bharatanatyam dance performance, participate in a session of Vedic chanting, or learn the techniques of Tamil cuisine with a master class from the chef. Thanjavur is also known for its craft workers and visits can be arranged to see hand-loom weavers, bronze sculptors and artists using gemstones and gold leaf. No visit to SVATMA would be complete without a visit to the Sound Spa for a therapy using the Nidra Anantar, a unique massage table beneath which there are 50 strings that vibrate to create a deep state of relaxation.
