Hoysala Village Resort
Where time stands still
Hoysala Village Resort is a rural retreat at Hassan in the heart of Karnataka.
Hassan is known as the ‘land of the sunflower’ and the resort is surrounded by fields of yellow. The design of the property is influenced by the architecture of the Hoysala and traditional materials have been used throughout. It’s a good base from which to discover some of the region’s ancient monuments including Belur (the former capital of the Hoysala Dynasty), Manjarabad Fort and Lakshmi Devi Temple. After exploring the local sites, you may wish to head to the Ayurvedic spa where the philosophies of ‘shanthi’ (peace) and ‘shakthi’ (energy) are practised.

Kokum is the hotel’s restaurant serving a range of cuisines with an emphasis on using organic ingredients and avoiding the use of additives.
There's a small spa offering Ayurvedic treatments and also an elevated spot for yoga which you can practice at sunrise and sunset.
As well as visiting the monuments of Belur and Halebeedu, you can take a nature walk to the village, keeping a lookout for the many birds that are here or join a spiritual walk to the Lakshmi Devi Temple at Doddagaddavalli.
Sustainable practises include rainwater harvesting and energy conservation. They have their own water purification unit and all of the food is grown organically including the coffee beans that kickstart your mornings using milk from their cows.
