Evolve Back, Hampi
Reimagining a prosperous kingdom
Just a few kilometres from the ancient city of Hampi, Evolve Back has created a wonderful, serene setting of lavish suites, against a backdrop of lush greenery.
The architecture is inspired by the 14th century Vijayanagara Empire, with incredible stonework throughout. The attention to detail is exceptional, even the infinity pool has been based on the design of the aqueduct fed tanks whilst the diyas (clay lamps) in the Deep Mahal lounge create a soft light ambience for relaxation. The big draw is a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hampi but there are also a number of walking trails leading you to some of Hampi’s lesser-known ancient sites and temples. Back at the resort, the spa is where you can experience pampering, fit for royalty. The architecture of the two restaurants is as impressive as the dishes served. Private dining in a mantapa (pavilion) can also be arranged poolside.

With the freedom and flexibility of private open-air Jeeps, the historians bring the monuments of Hampi to life through excellent storytelling. Hampi’s also a very rich place for flora and fauna. It’s home to a protected bear sanctuary and there’s a place where flamingos migrate during the Siberian winters.
Evolve Back has a number of sustainable and responsible tourism initiatives. Solar panels have been installed, the lamps used in the Deep Mahal are sourced from an NGO supporting disabled children and, through a school adoption programme, they have provided materials, infrastructure, teaching support and scholarships for students.
