Jungle House

Your fairytale cottage in the Shimla hills

Stay among the forested hills of Shimla in a cottage steeped in history.

Why we love Jungle House

  • The building is made from stone with a wood-panelled roof and large bay windows to showcase the Himalayan peaks and wildflower meadows

  • Jungle House is set at 7,700 feet on Jakhu Hill, Shimla’s highest point

  • Himalayan pheasants graze on the lawn in the mornings and leopards sometimes come to visit

  • The ancient woods are protected by the government and filled with deodar trees

Shimla
It’s just 500 metres from Jakhu Temple and a 30- minute walk from The Mall
Shimla Airport is a 60-minute drive, and the railway station is 20-minutes away

Facilities

  • Restaurants & bars
  • Activities

Meals are prepared by the chef, who’s been at the property for 30 years, and who cooks family recipes using local ingredients. The afternoon tea is a favourite, with freshly baked scones, sandwiches, Indian savouries and a selection of teas and coffee.

The nearby Jakhu Temple is a holy pilgrimage site for Hindus and trekking in the mountains is a popular activity, especially when you can return in time for the traditional afternoon tea.
