Bar Estoril is your mood dimly lit, Art Deco spot for all-day snacks and evening drinks whilst The Grill Four Seasons, with its Portuguese and international menu, is the place to dress up for dinner and feel like you’re dining in a grand old institution. There are also modern riffs – the bright and airy Bougainvillea Terrace Restaurant and an organic café where you can choose from tropical breakfast bowls, vitamin-rich smoothies and healthy lunches.

Bar Estoril
Nicknamed the Spy Bar and the most storied drinking hole in Portugal, this is where author Ian Flemming drank in the early 1940s with Serbian double agent Duško Popov who is believed to be one of the inspirations for Flemming’s world-famous James Bond.

Grill Four Seasons Restaurants
Open for dinner Tuesdays through to Saturdays, the Grill Four Seasons is a grand affair set on two levels. Come here for Portuguese and international flavours served with grace and charm.

Organic Caffé
Open for breakfast, lunch and late lunches, this modern space offers everything from avocado on toast and homemade granola to roasted vegetables and grilled chicken wraps.

The award-winning Banyan Tree Spa is a holistic hideaway where Thai rituals meet tropical rain mist therapies. This is coupled with the Estoril Wellness Centre, a chic and modern space with a fully equipped fitness centre, PT’s on hand, a dynamic indoor pool and hydromassage tubs. Expert staff include osteopaths and physiotherapists and you can join classes in Pilates, dance, Zumba and ballet. Minimum age at the spa is 16 years or 12 when accompanied by an adult. Minimum age at the fitness centre is 16 years.

There’s an ocean of possibilities on the Lisbon coast including surfing, windsurfing, water skiing and kite surfing. From Tamariz beach, it’s also possible to go out paddle boarding, kayaking and jet skiing.

The hotel’s restaurants put sustainability at the forefront, offering responsibly sourced seafood, locally sourced produce, organic food and drinks and both vegetarian and vegan meals.

With a large pool, gorgeous gardens and just a five-minute stroll to the beach, the hotel is a fine choice for a family holiday. Whilst there aren’t any facilities specifically catering to children, the area is wonderful to explore with kids, from the Cascais-Estoril promenade to Visconde da Luz Gardens and Cascais Marina.

The resort has a well-regarded golf club with two courses – the 18-hole Estoril Golf Couse and the 9-hole Blue Course. Guests wishing to play the 18-hole course will need to provide proof of their golf handicap prior to play.
