Boho bliss

The perfect seaside bolthole for peace and space, yet within easy distance of Kos.

For a hotel that’s on the street in the little seaside resort town of Tingaki, ananea More Meni manages to be exceedingly soothing. There are only 74 rooms here, so there’s a boutique feel to it. It’s strictly over 16s only, which also helps create a calmer atmosphere around the pool, where you can find a quiet spot to relax and there’s plenty of shade. You’re mere steps from the white-sand beach of Tagaki and only six or so miles from Kos when you’re ready to explore this fascinating and picturesque town.

There are 74 rooms spread across the main building and two separate bungalows. Throughout, the décor leans on natural materials – think wood, terracotta, linen, cotton, and rattan, with beds layered in tactile textiles and the walls painted in a warming putty shade. Although the overall feel is one of minimalism, the rooms have every comfort you’d expect from a modern hotel, including complimentary bathroom amenities, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a mini fridge.

Found in a separate bungalow away from the main building, these spacious suites are just two minutes from the beach. They have private balconies which overlook gardens to the sea beyond.

There are two restaurants and two bars here, so ample options to keep things interesting on a short break, and of course, you’ve got all the eateries of Kos and Tangaki to explore too (although you’d be forgiven for wanting to return to More Meni for more helpings from the fresh Greek kitchen). It’s easy for an evening to disappear in a flash as you dine in semi-al fresco surroundings beneath the lanterns that hang from the tree canopy.
