Walk a little further and you’ll reach the beautiful Venetian harbour where buzzing tavernas jostle for space. The beaches are just as stunning as the town, with the white (and pink) sands of Balos and Elafonisi within easy reach. Or, if you’re more of a hiker than a swimmer, Samaria Gorge makes a great day trip too.
