 Hotel Park Split

City living by the beach

This iconic and elegant 100-year-old hotel has a top location in the centre of Split, next to Bacvice Beach.

Hotel Park has been a Split landmark since 1921, but it doesn’t rest on its excellent reputation; a recent multi-million-pound refurbishment has resulted in a beautiful historical building with the feel of a plush boutique hotel. First impressions here are excellent, with warm and attentive service, a luxurious lobby and stunning sea views. Outside in the hotel gardens, there’s an elegant statue-lined terrace and a swimming pool with a deck and sun beds – this is a great place to come back to and relax after you’ve explored the city. Below ground, Di Spa is a highlight. As well as treatment rooms, there’s a Finnish sauna and an impressive salt room.

Why we love Hotel Park Split

  • It’s set in palm-dotted gardens by the sea next to Bacvice Beach, just outside the Old Town, but within an easy walk of the sights

  • You can relax between sightseeing jaunts on the statue-lined terrace or by the small swimming pool with its shaded sunbeds

  • Its subterranean spa is a tranquil retreat, with an inviting list of treatments along with a sauna and an impressive salt room

  • The Chef's Table experience includes a visit to the morning market to choose the ingredients for your private dinner

Every member of the staff was fabulous. Great location, and the complimentary breakfast was unbelievably great. Chaimae was a joy to see every morning! This was a great find. It was clean, luxurious and the staff was kind and extremely helpful.

I stayed in this hotel in October 2024 and had a fabulous holiday. I was with a party of four ladies who have been holidaying for twenty-five years together. We found this hotel to be excellent in every respect. The rooms were clean and well appointed. All staff were courteous, attentive and aware of customer needs. The hotel provided a superb breakfast every day, even catering for gluten free diets. Its restaurant was also enjoyable. The hotel is ideally situated for the city, ports, public transport and restaurants - all within walking distance. We also enjoyed its lovely gardens and its proximity to a beach and promenade. Early check in was easy and even though we were leaving late in the day we could use all the hotel facilities, including showers. Nothing was too much trouble and we would all stay here again. Thank you.

This is an old ‘grand’ hotel that has been renovated but maintained its heritage in terms of opulence in the communal areas. The rooms and bathroom are of decent size, with a decent amount of storage space. The air conditioning is again , ‘old’ but does the trick. When you arrive, the service is efficient and friendly, and the cookies & flavoured lemonade in the reception area are a nice touch. The bar area feels steeped in the grandiose of yesterday - which makes for a luxurious feel. Breakfast is absolutely fine with a nice selection. The hotel is conveniently situated 2mins from the beach , a 10min walk to the bus station and 15mins from split old town ……. A fascinating city, full of hidden gems round each corner. Given all that, you’re unlikely to find a hotel with a better location - especially one with a pool. In terms of grumbles….. the pool and the pool area is small, with a small number of sun beds for the number of guests. It’s certainly true that some guests feel it’s acceptable to leave towels and belongings for over two hours without being in the area - very selfish, but sadly foreseeable, behaviour. It would be nice for the hotel to remind guests of etiquette and remove things after an hour of non-attendance. We were fortunate that our bedroom was very quiet - however when in the bathroom you could absolutely hear the music from a wedding in the terrace one evening, and the nightclub on the beach most other evenings. Again, not a problem because of the orientation of the bedroom and the soundproofing , but potentially problematic for other bedrooms.
