Recommended itinerary

Day 1

San José

You’ll arrive in San José and head up the hillside away from the urban core for a night at the Xandari Resort & Spa. Head out to explore miles of trails and search out the waterfall, listening to the sounds of the wildlife in the verdant surroundings. Or make your way into the metropolis to get to know city life, Costa Rica style.

Days 2-3

La Fortuna

It's Arenal Volcano National Park next, staying at Arenal Kioro Suites & Spa. Hike up the active volcano, kayak on the lake, or submerge yourself in the hot springs then return to the luxury folds of your accommodation and enjoy incredible volcano views.

Days 4-7

Nicoya Peninsula

Four nights on the beach follow, staying at the Hotel Punta Islita on the gorgeous Nicoya Peninsula, one of the world’s five Blue Zones, where people lead healthier lives and have longer life expectancies. Watch the surfers negotiate the barrel waves or indulge in the spa, but if you haven’t had quite enough of the country’s wildlife, head into the wilderness in search of sloths or the streak of a scarlet macaw across the sky.

Day 8

San José

Your last night is back at the Xandari Resort & Spa, allowing you a moment to relax ahead of departure. Enjoy the views and feast on the farm-fresh food, taking a final swim or a final stroll along the trails.
