Monteverde Lodge & Gardens

Cool air, cloud forest and curated activities

Perched 5,000 feet above sea level, Monteverde Lodge and Gardens is to sleep in the clouds and rub more than a shoulder with the great outdoors.

You won’t find televisions in the suites of this sky-high mountain lodge but you will find huge windows with magical misty views. Day time calls for miles of bucket-list cloud forest hiking trails and ziplining over jungle canopy before kicking off your boots for a fresh dip in the pool. Sunset brings rum cocktails by an open fire and moreish farm-to-table dining under El Jardín’s hanging plants.

El Jardín

Whats Included

Breakfast at El Jardín Restaurant

The hotel has a Garden Massage Room offering a selection of organic oil treatments.

Yoga mats are available to borrow from reception for self-led practice.

Monteverde Lodge and Gardens owns 3.8 hectares of land and much of it is dedicated to a private nature reserve designed to preserve biodiversity and provide a safe habitat for wildlife. Staff also periodically help with reforestation in the grounds and join clean-ups of the nearby creeks. The lodge has eliminated single-use plastic straws and bottles, runs on 100% renewable electricity and has 47 solar panels installed. All cleaning products used are eco-friendly and biodegradable and you’ll be swimming in a solar-heated pool that’s purified by salt instead of chlorine, which is much kinder to the environment. El Jardín restaurant is also serious about minimising its carbon footprint, buying as much produce as possible from local organic growers and suppliers.
