Barefoot at Havelock

Sustainable beach-side jungle resort

If you’re looking to get back to nature and stay in a sustainable property, Barefoot at Havelock is the perfect place for you.

Barefoot at Havelock is a beach-side jungle resort, with plenty of activities to keep you busy on and off the water. Snorkelling, diving and boat cruises can be arranged. Try your hand at shoreline catch and release fishing or master the art of stand-up paddle boarding. A night walk will introduce you to some of the nocturnal creatures found in the surrounding rainforest. Accommodation has been built sustainably using renewable materials and the organic garden provides many of the ingredients used in the restaurant. Between activities, a visit to the Oma Spa will leave you rejuvenated.

Why we love Barefoot at Havelock

  • Head to Kalapathar Beach and watch the sunrise over the sea

  • From the rooms you can look out over the forest and hear the ocean quite clearly

  • The resident ornithologist will introduce you to Andaman's birdlife on a trek into the jungle

  • The cottages are surrounded by fruit trees and there’s minimal external lighting so as not to disturb nocturnal animals

Barefoot at Havelock is just a 2-minute walk to Radhanagar Beach
The nearest airport is Veer Savarkar International Airport at Port Blair. It is a 2-hour ferry ride from Port Blair to Havelock Island

  • Sustainability

Andaman cuisine using ingredients from the hotel’s organic farm and Italian cuisine are the specialties served at the restaurant.

The Oma Spa offers holistic treatments using natural ingredients. Indulge in a healing hot stone massage or a cinnamon and salt body scrub.

Guests love trail cycling and going on treks with the property’s resident naturalist. Look out for the white-throat kingfisher and the Andaman serpent eagle in the Mahua jungle.

Sustainability has always been a big part of their ethos. They have installed a rainwater harvesting system and built everything from natural materials such as wood and bamboo. They have an organic farm on site and they keep their own pigs and chickens; the rest of their ingredients are sourced locally.
