At meal times, the resort is a foodie haven. From the chic poolside restaurant Palm Avenue to the main restaurant Mezzerie which offers a different theme each night and a tempting Saturday Brunch, too. Head to Social for Italian and Asian dishes at LAO.

The award-winning Waldorf Astoria Spa is one of the most tranquil escapes on the Palm Jumeirah. Choose a vast range of treatments including soothing massages and hammam mud wraps to themed spa journeys to immerse you in Oriental, Arabic or Swiss-style relaxation. Welcoming guests over 16, the atmosphere is sublime, and facilities also include whirlpool hot tubs, saunas, herbal steam rooms and experience showers.

There's a shuttle service that will take you to Dubai's main attractions and shopping malls. At the hotel there is a fitness centre open 24-hours and a tennis court with the option of having private lessons with the professional.

Set on a pristine private beach of white sand where parasailing is one of the activities on offer. There's both an adult-only pool as well as one for families.

Waldorf Astoria, as part of the Hilton Group, has a Travel with Purpose programme that monitors the property's social and environmental impact. The Hilton Global Foundation is the group's philanthropic division that supports projects globally and assists with career training and employment.

The Coco's Kids' Club is open from 9am until 7pm where activities include mini Olympics, crafts and origami. Children's menus are offered at most of the restaurants and child-sized bath robes and slippers form part of the room amenities for families.
