A heritage property, rich with colonial charm within walking distance of Victoria Falls.
The Victoria Falls Hotel is a stylish Edwardian property located within walking distance from a private entrance to Victoria Falls and surrounded by large landscaped gardens, an outstanding pool, and spectacular views overlooking Victoria Falls Bridge and Batoka Gorge. The Victoria Falls Hotel was originally built in 1904 by the British to accommodate those working on the Cape to Cairo Railway. Over the decades, it has become one of the most iconic hotels in Africa, hosting royalty and dignitaries from all over the world.
It’s a 20-minute walk across the manicured gardens to Victoria Falls, the spray from which can be seen from some of the rooms and from the Stanley Terrace where a signature high tea is served every afternoon. Throughout, the traditional Edwardian décor reflects the history of the property. Hotel facilities include a secluded swimming pool, a small fitness room, beauty spa and hair salon.
Why we love The Victoria Falls Hotel
-
You can see the rising spray from the Victoria Falls and when it’s in full flow you can hear its thunderous sound
-
A member of the prestigious 'Leading Hotels of the World' collection, this is an acclaimed and sophisticated heritage hotel
-
Throughout its corridors you will see photos of the hotel's past famous guests, including Queen Elizabeth II
-
See the wildlife artwork at the Larry Norton gallery and visit Stone Dynamics which showcases Zimbabwean Shona stone sculptures

The signature restaurant, The Livingstone Room, is often considered to be the precedent for fine dining in Africa. Expect a glamorous evening as you dine on an exquisite à la carte menu within the elegant Edwardian-styled dining room. For a more casual affair, the garden restaurant Jungle Junction offers a delicious African buffet set against a stunning backdrop of the Batoka Gorge. For an added indulgence, there's also a bar and The Stanley Terrace where afternoon tea is served.

Jungle Junction

Stanley's Terrace

Stanley's Bar
The perfect setting for a chilled G&T or classic cocktail.

There's a spa and beauty salon offering aromatherapy massages and Clarins facials.
You're just a short walk from the falls and ideally placed for everything from bungee jumping and ziplining at Batoka Gorge to helicopter rides, water rafting and sunset cruises. However, it’s worth simply taking time to sit on the terrace and gaze out at the gorge and the iconic bridge.
